From Russia with Love
The Lewis Group recently played host to a delegation of Russian businessmen looking to export some of the UK's collections' techniques, expertise and experiences back to their own country to launch their own professional debt collection operation.
Organised through the CSA, Dimitrios Somovidis spent the day at The Lewis Group's headquarters near Leeds to discover more about how a professional debt collection agency works. Christine Laycock Client Services Directror of The Lewis Group, explains "Dimitrios was especially interested in our in-house collection operation, the techniques we employ, how the teams are trained and managed to work with debtors and how maintining the reputation of our clients is paramount. He had earlier attended a seminar hosted by the CSA and so was able to learn very quickly about how companies such as ours and other members of the CSA are driving best-practice, not just in the UK, but also further afield.
Dimitrios has since taken this knowledge back to his homeland and launched his own collection agency. He said: "I learned a great deal. Many of the processes and techniques used by The Lewis Group can be applied over here, and I was very impressed by the professional way in which they run their business."
